Located on McMaster University’s main campus and connected to the DeGroote School of Business, the McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery is supported by a generous gift from the McLean family. The facility includes spaces to collaborate, network and study and is equipped with the latest technology to help students and the community solve real-world problems.
The 10-storey McLean Centre features:
- A welcoming main floor featuring a café and bright, open spaces where students can connect with one another
- Dedicated learning hubs where students, faculty and the community work together on real-world business challenges
- A state-of-the-art environment supporting interactive and interdisciplinary teaching and learning
History
The vision for the the McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery began in 2017, when the DeGroote School of Business recognized the need to transform business education and prepare students for a rapidly changing world.
The goal was simple: to create a collaborative and interdisciplinary learning environment where students could develop the skills, creativity, and leadership required for the future of business.
Inspired by this vision, Paul McLean and the McLean family made a transformational gift that, alongside support from the University, alumni, and industry partners, turned the idea into reality.
Today, the McLean Centre stands as more than a new building, it is a state-of-the-art space where students, faculty, and community partners unite to solve real-world problems. Featuring a welcoming ground floor café and vibrant social spaces, along with innovative learning hubs and labs throughout, the Centre is designed to foster collaboration, hands-on learning, and discovery.
